I really like the fact that you are local and are available to assist me whenever I need help. I have been using Data Safe for my critical data backup since 2006. In that time, I have needed to have my data restored twice. Data Safe provides redundant, off-site backup to protect you from true disasters as well as the scourge of crypto-locker type malware. I am currently reaching out to all of my clients that don’t use this service because I view it as the only legitimate protection against the lucrative criminal profession of crypto-locker extortion.

Advantages over nearest competition:

Data Safe has data centers in Bristol, Elkhart, and plans to build a new facility in northern St Joe County, IN. This is close enough for them to deliver us a hard drive (rather than wait for over-the-wire transfers) in the event of a massive restoration but far enough away to be extremely unlikely to be compromised by local weather, power, and other disasters.

Local ownership and support. Data Safe is owned by a long-time colleague who lives and works in Granger, IN. His company is large enough to provide robust data center resources but small enough to be able to respond quickly to your needs.

Local data center tenancy. You know where your data lives. It is not in some nebulous “cloud.”

Data encryption at rest and in transit. Data is encrypted prior to being stored either locally or remotely. It is both transferred and stored in an encrypted state.

Regulatory compliance. The encryption in rest and transit yields compliance with HIPAA, SOX, PCI, et al.

Daily monitoring email reports.

Dedicated tech support. Data Safe has dedicated, US support staff available with little to no notice. I have had very good experiences with their service.

No resource throttling. Data Safe will backup and restore your data using the full allocation of resources at your disposal. Backup performance is not artificially limited.

Data Safe has been an important part of the Chamber system for some time now. Earlier this year, Paul was able to retrieve and restore about 3,000 documents that had vanished. They were not available through our previous backup system.

As you can imagine, one or two of the missing documents were suddenly extremely important and we couldn't get them. Paul helped us out quickly and efficiently and let us get back to business.
